NYC COVID-19 Numbers, Day ?

I think today is the first time at seeing a glimmer of hope. The number of hospitalizations and intubations have been trending down for the last couple days. The true test is to see if they continue to trend down over the next week or so.

We got luck with an Amazon order earlier this week. I ended up staying up till near midnight to finally get a delivery time slot for Amazon Fresh. We received the delivery just fine. I tried to place another order since we forgot a bunch of items and no luck. Olessia had ventured out for groceries for the first time in 2 weeks and had success. Word was the grocery store was picked over and the local drug store was nearly picked over as well. But Olessia found most of what we needed.

Work is chugging along, although many many employees are being furloughed. I’ve been fortunate and lucky my job hasn’t been furloughed (for now at least).

I’ve been teaching D chess. He can setup the board. For the most part, he knows how all the pieces move (with some reminders here and there). He’s already calculating moves and making moves I wasn’t expecting.

I’ve been playing Rocket League with D on the Xbox. He enjoys it a lot. For now, it’s all about being able to drive around, chase cars, do jumps and flips, and make things go boom.

We accidentally ran into a game called Untitled Goose Game. This game is a riot. We’ve practically fallen off the couch from laughing. You control a goose and your mission is to drive the residents in a small town nuts. You have many puzzles to figure out. It’s really clever and D has put in a lot of thought in solving the scenarios. Good stuff!
