About

I’ve had some form of a personal web site since ‘96. It all started at gozips.uakron.edu (U. Akron loves deleting my account after a semester of classes). My personal site is always a playground for me to test and practice my web development tricks and techniques. I like to find out what works and what doesn’t.

I’ve been in the computer industry in one form or another since 1994. I started out thinking I’d be doing something with AutoCAD and drafting, but I really wanted to do something more hands on with computers. I got into hardware, tech support, then network consulting, web development, and now data mining mixed with some web development. I’m also co-owner of Tekro which John and I started back in 1999 (Whoa! its been years!). I’m the web guy at Tekro when time allows.

I’ve been waiting for my head to explode with the number of languages I either know or have forgotten. Here’s a quick list:

  • English – sort of
  • French – a few sentences
  • German – a few words
  • Russian – currently learning
  • Swahili – a few words
  • C/C++ – cout << “fluent”;
  • C# – Console.WriteLine(“fluent”);
  • PHP – echo ‘fluent’;
  • Java – System.out.println(“rather fluent”);
  • Assembler – a few commands
  • Visual Basic – if need be
  • ASP – JScript flavored
  • Python – Zope flavored
  • Perl – if need be
  • SQL – Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Access flavors
  • Most (if not all) web markup languages – like HTML, CSS, RSS, XML, JavaScript, and whatever else is the rage

Every now and then you can find me autocrossing. I haven’t raced for a while now. Olessia has my Teg and it has been holding up, although it will be replaced soon. I am sporting a 2006 Acura TSX which I want to autocross, but haven’t had the guts or the time to actually go and do it.

Lately, I have been getting into photography. My gear consists of of a Nikon D80, Nikon N80, and a Canon A630. I have a couple other cameras although they are not actively used.

Beyond autocrossing and web development, you might find me traveling, taking pictures, coding, watching too much TV, try to attain a 4 year degree in under 20 years, or mountain biking. Check out the photo gallery and you’ll see what I mean.  I’ve been known to wardrive a bit in my TSX.

Lately I’ve been playing Crossfire as AstroTeg and AstroTeg2.  I’m not very good at it, but it’s fun.

Here’s my list of things I’m allergic to. This list actually saved me from a blood test.
